This policy sets out the personal information we collect when you visit aquelie.com, what we do with it, who we share it with and the rights you have. It applies to the whole store and its services.

Aquelie operates this store. Our site runs on the Shopify platform, which hosts our data and processes payments on our behalf.

The information we collect

• Your contact details: name, delivery and billing address, email address.
• Your orders: products viewed, added to the cart, bought, returned or refunded, together with the history of your exchanges with us.
• Your payments: type of payment method, confirmation of the transaction and what is needed for fraud detection. We never see or store your card number: it goes straight to the payment provider.
• Your account, if you create one: username, encrypted password, preferences.
• Your devices: IP address, browser, operating system, pages viewed, where your visit came from, cookie identifiers.

Where this information comes from

It comes from you directly, when you order or write to us. It also comes automatically from your browsing, through cookies and similar technologies, and from our providers when they act on our behalf.

What we do with it

• Handle your order: take payment, prepare and ship the parcel, send you the tracking, deal with a refund or an exchange.
• Answer you: run customer service and keep the thread of our exchanges.
• Improve the store: measure traffic, understand what works and fix what does not.
• Send you offers, if you have consented, and show you relevant advertising on other sites. You can object at any time.
• Prevent fraud and keep payments secure.
• Comply with the law: accounting and tax obligations, and legitimate requests from the authorities.

Depending on the case, this processing rests on the performance of our contract with you, on your consent, on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the store, or on a legal obligation.

Strictly necessary cookies make the cart, sign-in and checkout work: they cannot be turned off. Analytics and advertising cookies are subject to your consent, which you give or refuse from the banner shown on your first visit and can change at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We pass it only to those who need it to run the store:

• Shopify, which hosts the site and the store;
• the payment providers, which handle the transaction;
• our fulfilment partners and carriers, to deliver to you;
• our analytics, email and advertising tools, within the limits of your consent;
• the authorities, where the law requires it.

In the event of a sale or reorganisation of the business, this information could be transferred to the buyer, under the same protections.

International transfers

Aquelie is established in the United States and Shopify operates from several countries. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. These transfers rely on the safeguards provided for by the applicable rules, in particular the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Order data is kept for as long as our accounting and tax obligations require. Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe, then for three years. Cookies have their own lifetimes, at most thirteen months for those subject to consent.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights: to access your information, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to obtain a portable copy, to object to its processing or ask that it be restricted, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

If you live in a US state with a privacy law, you may in particular object to the "sale" or "sharing" of your information for targeted advertising, from the Your Privacy Choices page.

We will never treat you differently because you exercise one of these rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and payments are encrypted end to end. As no system is perfectly secure, never send us sensitive information through an unsecured channel.

Children

The store is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe this has happened, write to us and we will delete the data concerned.

Our pages may link to sites we do not run. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices: read their own policy before entrusting them with anything.

Changes

We may update this policy, in particular to reflect a change in our practices or in the rules that apply. The version in force is always the one published on this page.
